Kerry's boatmates have loved and respected him since the war and will do anything to help him. That includes some who are Republicans. They come to his defense because Kerry is being slandered by nasty low-down liars and they all owe Kerry their lives. These rightwing lies are nothing new by the way, just more organized and well-funded now. All coming directly out of the RNC. They know they're liars but they don't care. Same thing they did to McCain, and that cost the GOP dearly. McCain would have a much finer president than Bush. Bush is a disgrace.
