A concentration camp is where you collect an entire society of those declared 'undesirable'. They are there because they are members of the society. When the Americans imprisoned Japanese in WWII, that was a concentration camp

Sorry Nadine, a better description is it was a detention camp. They all
all survived or died of natural causes.

Nadine, "Concentration Camp". I'll go with the dictionary and my understanding of the meaning over several decades. dictionary.reference.com

You can invent a new meaning if you wish. Sometimes new meanings replace old.

Gaiety anyone? For a moment there I couldn't remember how to spell it! I wrote gayity but that didn't look right. The dictionary still doesn't mention homosexuality, but I suppose it does with gay.
