You know.......when they gave us free speech in the Bill of Rights, it wasn't with the proviso that we would all say good and agreeable things. Agreed. Free speech includes the ability to say disagreeable things, including the ability to say disagreeable things in response to others who say disagreeable things. Criticism includes criticizing critics. Dang! Did you read the link that Ten posted? A hundred GOP Congressman wanted the professor fired. That's not being critical; that's being punitive. GOP neoconservatives talk the good talk but down deep, I don't believe that they believe in free speech; that they believe in the Bill of Rights and that they believe in the Constitution. From McCarthy on down, they have made one attempt after the another to hurt those with whom they do not agree. The Constitution was amended to allow abortions. Because they object and because they can't get a majority to agree with them, they kill people. They respect the laws only when they agree with those laws. Its sick! I don't agree with what that professor said; I do not agree with Ann Coulter........but never would I try to get either of them punished for their words. When you really understand what the Bill of Rights stands for; what the Constitution means....then come back to me and we'll talk. They are not meaningless but pretty pieces of paper to hold up and show company. They are everything that makes this country different from almost every other country in the world. And in the last 3 years those documents have been stepped on repeatedly with little disregard for what they mean. Maybe our forefathers were as fake as $3 bills but they put out some good $h*t and I will not let Bush and his cronies destroy them if I can help it. ted
