Hmmm... You state: Bush called himself "the war president" but went AWOL. This is really convoluted. Let me see...are we in a War? Who is the currently President? Seems to make sense, eh? Although, I don't recall seeing George Bush go AWOL during his presidential term. Is this what you are trying to say? You continue with this: Therefore, Kerry who is a real combat hero but is being attacked as 'weak on defense" (as if) should and needs to highlight the fact that he is a decorated war hero and knows something about air-craft carriers for real. In fact he served on a carrier escort in the Gulf Of Tonkin. Sorry, but you are still trying to bring Kerry's war record in to this argument. Based solely on Kerry's voting record he is soft on defense. Also, since when has it been a presidential prerequsite to having served in the military? Why it was Kerry himself, while speaking of Bill Clinton's LACK of military service, who said the very same thing. :) I can pull the quote if you would like! You close with this: Kerry has never ever grabbed about killing or heroism. He doesn't even talk about it to his family, his stepson told interviewers. I believe it. I spoke to Kerry about his war heroism and he was very humble about it. Humble? If Kerry was humble as you claim, why does he and you keep bringing up his Vietnam record? Diz-
