You mean this??:

Hey, how do you do that italics thing?

HTML tags.. Eliminate the periods and do this:

<.i.>Hey, how do you do that italics thing?<./.i>

Insert "B" instead of "I" if you want to bold something..

With reference to your other comments:

how do you handle a policy decision that is so misguided that "the full determination of ALL political parties focus[ed] on deriving a positive and successful result" will NOT achieve the result desired.

Well, if your alternative is that we pull all of our forces out of Iraq, then I would agree that there exists a basis for a policy disagreement..

But if we're still involved in this "blame game" over why we got there in the first place, it's no longer relevant.

The decision has already been made, rightly or wrongly, and we're responsible for applying our national will to either fix it, or leave the Iraqi people to their own devices (with all the resulting repercussions for the future).

I can't change the past.. and neither can you... So get past it.

What's important is that we now decide what level of effort we're willing to dedicate to trying to derive a positive outcome from the situation.
