So I can buy that router and hook up a single DSL line into the router and run both computers off if it and both computers will have DSL?

Yes

dawgy, think of the router as a distribution point [or a switch]. A single cable goes from the DSL modem to the router. A cable goes from the router to PC1, another cable goes from the router to PC2. The router decides which data packet from the web goes to which PC. Not only can each PC surf the web, but they can also 'see' some of each others file folders and printers - if you choose to set them up that way. With windows XP it is not difficult.
