There's no doubt that what took place in Aba Ghraib is a serious breach of security and purpose. Who ever is responsible for such actions should be terminated immediately.

I'm not going to go so far as to speculate that Rumsfeld should be fired, I leave that to the President to pass judgement on. But certainly there have been mistakes made in the prosecution of this war, and they have been mistakes of basic judgements, calculations, and administration of the war, and one would think that Rumsfeld is ultimately the responsible person. That said there is not always perfect execution of administration policies in the down hill direction. We are now hearing that Rumsfeld has known about these problems in the prisons for months. What needs to be assessed is whether he responded to that information properly. Of course the only proper response would have been the placement of people of unquestioned trust in positions of oversight. Was that done? If it was not done, then a breach of duty may be assumed.
