I am not an expert on nuclear power plants and some times I am puzzled why France is successful in operating nuclear power plants for almost all their electrical energy needs and even export electricity, ..... and other countries are failing to adopt this source of energy in a broader fashion.

Nuclear power plants are in operation over 2 generation and I fail to understand why technology has not improved their safety in such a way as to be largely accepted as a source of electrical power.

I think that aside from bone headed environmentalists there is also a technology issue and possible a political issue
