Hi CobaltBlue; Re: "It's funny, we have Indian/Americans posting on the thread who favor India, and Chinese/Americans posting on the thread who favor China or Taiwan, depending, and Mexican/Americans who favor Mexico, etc. etc. but nobody accuses them of being traitors and Quislings. Instead, their insights are considered valuable."

I've seen essentially no accusations of anyone being a "traitor". Typical accusations are that of caring more about their homeland than about the US. This is an accusation of divided loyalties, not one of being a traitor per se. And the term "quisling" refers to "A traitor who serves as the puppet of the enemy occupying his or her country." Since there is no enemy occupying the US, we have no quislings here:

And the insights of the foreign born are not always "considered valuable". I, for one, repeatedly posted that the Iraqi emigres were promoting an invasion by giving a description of Iraq that was incompatible with the facts. I've also posted that the Pakistanis and Indians typically come here promoting their own home countries, and attempting to use the US as a club to beat the other in their own little conflict.

The reason the Israelis get tarred with this brush more than others is for the simple reason that their century long pissing match has gotten more US soldiers killed than anything else since the Vietnam war. But don't feel singled out. Do note that I've accused the Catholics of drawing us into Vietnam.

It's not personal, it's just foreign policy. When the US again has a foreign policy that treats both sides in Palestine / Israel as equal belligerents in a contest that the in which the US has no stake, then you will see the various complaints disappear.
