More on the Fahrenheit 9/11 release.

If nothing else, it's getting some attention. The real issue with 9/11 has been the lack of public awareness of the questions that should have been asked. IMO anything that increases that level of awareness on a large scale is a move in the right direction.

A few weeks ago I was having coffee with some friends and the conversation turned to some of the less well reported facts surrounding the attacks. It was more than a little interesting to watch the light dawn on one friend as I rattled off some of the more damaging pieces of information. Partly because he was aware of quite a few pieces of information, and partly because a lot of it wasn't reported well enough to gain the information through normal interest. At one point he said, "Why hasn't the media ever connected this information into one big picture?".

I don't think there's any doubt the film will be released, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if some of the current controversy isn't something of publicity stunt, but what will be real interesting is if it connects the dots well enough to get people asking some of the hard questions.
