Right, but that won't stand in his way. Rumsfeld, you're right he didn't do anything but fly around while in the service.: Born in Chicago, Illinois, of German descent, Donald Rumsfeld attended Princeton University on scholarship (AB, 1954) and served in the United States Navy (1954-57) as a Naval aviator. He went to Washington, DC, in 1957, during the Eisenhower Administration, to serve as Administrative Assistant to a Congressman from Ohio. After a stint with an investment banking firm, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Illinois in 1962, at the age of 30, and was re-elected in 1964, 1966, and 1968

Hi AS,

Well as you know, Kerry wasn't my first choice for the Dems to nominate but as of now he is my only realistic choice for president. So if you are so wired in to his campaign, I might suggest he get a little tougher in his words during the campaign. That's what got Dean to where he got and really blazed the trail for Kerry..

Challenge Bush on his record. Domestic and international failures. Don't worry about the so called negative advertising charge. Because Bush's record is ALL negative.. ANY SITTING president WORTH his salt should ONLY have POSITIVE ads depicting HIS record. And any voter worth his salt should recognize this..

It is the challenger's responsibility to point out his/her opponents short comings.. And it is the "champs" or is that the "chimps" <g>, job to point out his/her strengths..That is his/her record.. If the champ is PROUD of it, RUN on it, proclaim it to the world and FORGET about what YOUR challenger says... If NOT get the hell out of the way..

And I further might suggest, that any BS talk, like Kerry's war record versus Bush the Chickenhawk's, NOT go vigerously unchallenged.. It doesn't work, trust me, to let BS go on.

I know from my past experiences, including even here on what I once thought was a friendly SI, where a person tries to be nice and ignore phoney BS posts, but if left unchallenged they seem to take on a life of their own and only get nastier.. They have to be immediately quashed to be eliminated forever.. Unfortunate, but the truth..

Like Mark Twain, I think said , "A lie can be half way around the world before the truth is even out of the starting gate" or something to that effect..

Go Kerry..
