It is one thing for Christians and Jews to think non-believers are going to hell. That is not violence. It is quite another thing for muslims and atheists to actually murder people. We ought not confuse the two highly different things. Atheists have murdered more people in the 20th century than in all the Christian vs heathen wars combined.

Sure, it is sweeping. How about we just really separate the function of government and religion, so that evil doers can't hide their hateful actions behind the fascade of religion?

Let's not pretend that we've achieved that separation, what with the near-theocracy of Bush the Second.
