John Kerry wants to be president, but he can’t shoot straight with the American people.

In my speech tonight-to the Northwest Iowa Republican Club-I provide the two latest examples:

* John Kerry evades responsibility by blaming “overzealous speechwriters” for calling American businesses, “Benedict Arnold” companies, and
* John Kerry tells different audiences, on different days, different answers as to what kind of cars he owns!

It is powerful to hear John Kerry contradict himself, in his own words.

If John Kerry can’t give a straight answer to the simple question -- What kind of car do you own? -- I guess we shouldn’t expect him to be able to tell us what would be his policy for Iraq; Or how he
would cut the deficit in half while proposing $1.9 trillion in new spending and only $700 billion in new taxes.

John Kerry’s pattern of caveats, qualifications, disclaimers, policy reversals and vacillation are not the qualities voters are looking for in times of uncertain change that deserve steady leadership.

Keep up the great work!

Sincerely, Ed Gillespie
