I can just hear what the military strategist will be saying many years from now studying the blunder of the Iraqi war:

"Whatever possessed them to change from a proven successful war strategy to fighting a war for hearts and minds? "Have they forgotten why Germany was saturated bombed and Truman dropped the the "A" bombs on Japan? Only when the people of a country are devastated will they willing submit to change."

Oh well! Another one to be studied at the Academy.
