we have a father - son Presidency and many of the same players would be involved no matter what. It's no surprise, no big conspiracy.

The neocons began in the 1960s but came into power with Reagan. Reagan, like Junior, was not strongly in control of the White House and allowed the neocons much latitude for their adventures. When Senior took over he began to balk at the extreme measures and suddenly his hard core support within the RNC evaporated. Not every republican was a neocon, but they controlled the machinery.

this type of thing did not start in Bush I or in RR's term.
I agree that there have been several political movements in the past both here and in other countries. It could be said that the main difference between the neocons and a left group like PETA is that the neocons have wealth and success behind them. The truth is I don't get worried about fringes who don't have much of a chance of suceeding. I wouldn't be worried about their succeeding if they had not shown that they would use their sucess for selective advantage to their own group. In other words, the neocon goal is to take from everyone else thereby confirming their self appointed position as philospher kings. They in fact have shown indications that they will treat all but their closest members very harshly.

I can only argue with the level of governmental incompetence,as that is something I have dealt with most of my life from the private sector,
That is really beside the point. We are not at war because someone was incompetent. We are at war because a small but specific group has giving Muslim groups a poke in the eye, over and over. The very same people who were convincing Reagan to bomb Ghadaffi's tent were the very same people who advised Bush to begin planning an attack on Saddam. Time heals all wounds unless someone keeps picking at them.

the really hard work of reforming government from top to bottom, eliminating the pork, eliminating the layers of red tape, having real goals in black and white and policies that are meaningful

You can't possibly believe that such an effort is currently underway. This neocon mantra is a red herring, an example of the perfect being used to stop the good. It's just like hydrogen cells are used to stop calls for fuel economy. The neocons spend millions on polling Americans. They poll not to find out what Americans think, but to find words that Americans will accept, and then they describe their agenda in slogans which hide the true objectives instead of illuminate them.

I think you hear their catchy tune, but miss the lyrics.

I am voting for Kerry because he represents small changes from the America I happen to like, and not a radical and extreme neocon change.
