They have a fairly good recent record, being optimistic on the US economy last year for example when many (such as the oft quoted Steven Roach) were calling for recession: bankcreditanalyst.com I like their lack of ideology: they just report it as they see it and don't filter it first through their viewpoint - this is I think the fault of the majority of people on SI. I should note that Andy Xie of MS who also called the commodities upswing last year is now calling for a dramatic reversal: Message 20095824
