There was far more to Clinton's "bubble" economy besides tech. There were help wanted signs everywhere you looked, not just at Taco Bell and Jack in the Box like you see now.

Clinton's economy was a lot more than dot-coms, it was about real optimism, balanced budgets, confidence, fairness and very low unemployment. It lasted for six years so it was no simple boom. It could have continued if Bush hadn't throw out Clinton's pay as you go policies.

Nothing is perfect though. Speculators and cheats did take advantage of the prosperity and optimism. But we could have gotten past the Enron and Worldcom fiascos.
