David Martin of CBS news just confirmed that the prisoner scandal is creating less fuss in Iraq than you might expect. He says it falls along the political divisions. Many Sunnis are enraged, but they were enraged before. Most of the Kurds and Shia don't have all that much sympathy for the inhabitants of Abu Ghraib, their former Saddamite masters.

Oh, he was ticked off at me because I took a case without asking him. Even though I was admitted to the Louisiana Bar, I wasn't allowed to practice law in VA until I passed the VA bar exam and was sworn in, so I was working as a paralegal. Afterwards, he wanted to keep me as a paralegal but I just quit and hung out my shingle, and my last week, had a hearing with one of my own cases, so asked for the time off without pay. He told me to drop the case and I told him that would be unethical, it was a criminal case, I couldn't drop it at the last minute. Yes, I am sure he thought I was uncontrollable.
