Another Bush lie. What else in new. He has been airing this ad about Kerry's vote on the 87 billion dollars for Iraq. I think the American people have a right to know the full story. They do not like being lied to. Here it is what Kerry said:
***********************************************************

"Ladies and gentlemen, the president made the decision as to when to send our troops to war, no one else — he decided the date," he began. "And on the date they went into Iraq, they didn't have the armament on the Humvees, the armored doors, they didn't have the equipment they needed in some regards, and they didn't have the state-of-the-art body armor at that moment when they went in.

"Secondly, this is very important, I actually did vote for the $87 billion — before I voted against it. Joe Biden and I thought this: we thought since a lot of mainstream, regular folks in America were sharing a big burden of this war, we thought since those families are sacrificing, that just maybe the wealthiest people in America would be willing to also contribute, and so Joe and I brought an amendment to the $87 billion, and we said, `This should be paid for now, not adding to the deficit,' and the way we should pay for it is say to the wealthiest 1 or 2 percent of Americans, instead of accepting $690 billion of tax cuts over the next 10 years, wouldn't you just be willing, in the spirit of patriotism and sacrifice, to just take $600 billion?

"And you know what? The president said no; the Republicans voted no."
***********************************************************

This is vintage Kerry. Notice how he started off by saying that the White House doesn't plan things right. Then he goes onto say that about the 87 billion dollars. How shoddy the details of the plan were.

Bush fiddled while 2+ million jobs were lost. Never raised a finger. Yet gave huge tax breaks to the rich and helped his cronies make windfall profits by gouging consumers. In return, the profiteers (Pioneers, Rangers) hired nobody in the USA, out-sourced jobs, hid profits from taxation offshore and made it to the 2-3 trillion in deficit spending these past 3-4 years is all money down the drain.

If he have some hiring now that's great, but if you check carefully I'll bet you'll find they're not great jobs, but low-paid poor health benefit jobs. Kerry will work hard to change all this.

No, not political. The fact is, I am an American and therefore and somewhat responsible for what my countrymen do. I do criticize other countries, but what can I do about their barbarism? I can only try to sway my own government to stop our barbarous ways, be a under a Democratic or Republican adminstration (the Dems were in power when the Viet Nam atrocities occurred, they are not beyond blame, it is not a left/right thing). We as Americans, whatever your political stipe are to blame for allowing our government to conduct itself in such a barbaric and shameful manner as the abuse of prisoners in our custody. What does that say about our country. Not a good reflection.
