There were 296,000 new people complaining about part time for economic reasons. Let me try it this way instead: The total number of people complaining went up by a count of 296,000.

The number of EXTRA people bitching about part time work went up nearly identical to the number of jobs supposedly created.

296,000 vs 308,000
There is no double count on that 296,000
Now, as for the 308,000 you either believe it or not.
As benefits expired in mass, I think a lot of desperate people took anything. With all the HDs, Lowes, Burger Kings and Walmarts going up right before the upcoming retail flameout, there probably were a fair number of those jobs to be filled.
