Thanks for the responses. I am still a bit unclear about the issue of switching costs and tool integration. Is it easy for a fab to use NVLS' PVD and/or CMP tools, but use AMAT tools for other processes? Or are there substantial advantages to being either a Novellus shop or an AMAT shop? Is it the strategy of both firms to provide a soup to nuts solution to virtually all their customers' needs?

Who do you feel has greater bargaining power - the semi manufacturer or the tool manufacturer?

At this point in the cycle, what price do you envision AMAT hitting before heading down? I seem to recall an estimate of $72 if I am not mistaken?
