The energy gouging started the day after Cheney-Bush were nominated in 2000. It halted temporarily the day after Jeffords shocked them by changing parties and giving Dems subpoena powers to investigate energy fraud. Then it resumed again after 9-11 when Cheney-Bush used the attacks to drown out criticism, used the Iraq War talk to steal back the Senate (including branding war hero Max Cleland a traitor) and now peaks again just in case they lose the election. The Cheney-Bush energy cronies want to drain us good by November because this may be their last chance.
