Sharon will be gone in a year, maybe less, and Arafat will continue on his merry destructive way. "Why were we entitled to our independence even though we manifested bad behavior and the Palestinians are not allowed the same largesse?" We were not entitled and neither are the PA. But to follow your argument through, consider Israel as early American settlers and the PA as the indigenous NA indians. If we were entitled to destroy native indian culture and occupy the land, why too can we not allow "the same largesse" to Israel. The PA sure do fit the bill of primitive savages, you must agree. More so than NA indians, imo.
