I believe T.A. "works" for equities. I have been less sure about commodities that are actually produced and consumed. Does the chart make things happen or does what is happening make the chart?

When cotton hits a high that it has sharply declined from in the several past periods one can say the charts showed what would happen. And in a way they did but the chart worked only because at a certain price level substitution, and increased production, incentivized by the price rise, drove the price down.

Excuse the over simplification, but will actual production and use in China. "draw" the charts for metals or will the charts cause prices of raw materials to move down because they have moved up too fast and hit well established resistance levels?
