Boykin - I had forgotten his name. The reputation Islam is getting, I would say is largely due to the actions of murderous Islamists around the world. Massacres of Christians and burning of churches in Nigera, warfare against non-Muslims in Sudan and Thailandand Indonesia, shootings of fellow UN police in Kosovo, terror attacks in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Spain, Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kashmir, Chechnya, Indonesia, Philippines. And oh yes, the US. A list of recent incidents off the top of my head. I'm sure its not complete. Where there are Muslims there is violence it seems. I know it is not all Muslims doing these things, but nevertheless it does seem true that there is a minority within almost all Muslim communities all over the world which is prone to violence based on their interpretation of their religion. Just before 911 happened the writer Salman Rushdie visited Houston. The only reason I took note of it is that a Muslim school which was located near where I worked at the time sent out groups of students chaperoned by personnel from the school to "protest" Rushdie. By "protest", I mean to chant Death to Rushdie. Now it just so happened that 911 occurred soon after. Otherwise I would likely to have forgotten this incident. But I do remember it. And I have to ask what kind of religious school teaches it students and organizes them to go out as groups and chant death threats? I don't see any other religions doing that.
