It sounds like we are talking about a rogue interrogation unit without disciple.

My understanding, possibly erroneous, is that the individuals involved were simply guards, and were not supposed to be involved with interrogations at all, though there have been suggestions that interrogators asked guards to "soften up" certain individuals.

Bernard Kerik was on Fox tonight...He had been in Iraq for awhile last year....Said the prison was where they kept the really "bad guys".....Also said he had meet with the woman General a few times. He picked his words carefully while talking about her. He also said that there were outside contractors there, and that they needed to be supervised as well. Before he left, he made note of the fact that the Commander of the facility was in charge, and was responsible for what happened in her term as Commander.

One other note...Also on Fox.... a reporter from USNews commented that many media folks are going through the Pentagon report (the one that was leaked before the investigations were through)....There were 4 people specifically called out for further investigation. Two sounded to be CIA related, and the other two were contractors...

Rivera said that the contractor situation would really change. For instance, most of the media hires contractors for security all of their news crews.
