Call them what they are.....mercenaries. What's wrong with the term. They are hired guns, I didn't say there was anything wrong with it,and there are supposed to be about 15,000 in Iraq. They were also among the interrogators in the prison.

You didn't answer my question...are you trying to justify the torture, murder, and humiliation of prisoners? Wasn't saving Iraqi's from such a plight the most recent of Bush's reasons for the invasion?

Leave the issue of mercenaries aside. We are supposed to usher democracy and the rule of law into Iraq. How can these torture and abuse incidents be explained in that context? Is it helping in our efforts to achieve that goal?

Now, don't take cover under the "a few bad apples" excuse. Rummy himself has said that there could be hundreds if not thousands of such cases.
