Air America and other new moderate-liberal broadcast ventures are doing fine. The word I've heard is that the Bushies went after the owner of the LA and Chicago stations to try and queer the deal for Air America resulting in AA needing a new station in LA. They were back in in Chicago after 48 hours and have millions of listeners across the country. Furthermore they are financially sound and moving into 15 new markets in a few weeks. Just have to work out a kink or two.

Air America is also very PRO America, just very anti-rightwing. Never confuse America with the extreme rightwing ideologues. America is a democreacy not a totalitarian rightwing state like Iraq was or Nazi Germany.

The biggest new anti-Bush radio show is Howard Stern. Since retaliating against the rightwing Bushie censors, Stern is #1 across the country again for the first time in 9 years. His audience are mostly white male swing-voter types.

Hannity and Limbaugh may have good ratings but they continue just preaching to the choir. Few non-rightwingers listen to them or believe what they say. They have unable to convert anyone because they are so obviously biased and partisan. They also lost a lot of credibility pimping the war in Iraq and much of what they were betting their reputations on turned out to be total lies. Rush also has the major drug problem and upcoming trial to worry about.

Air America is doing great actually. I have a friend who got a job with an affiliate station. Their problems are actually more related to growth and the format which requires stations to embrace a 24/7 AA format.

They have around 30 stations signed up now, incl most of the big markets.
