That seems a perverse way of reasoning if that's what they really are thinking.

That is precisely the line of reasoning. They reason that if enough families had their sons and daughters drafted, there would be a permanent anti-war demographic.

It may seem to you to be that way, but it is exactly what they are thinking. They figure it will stop the Government from military adventures.

If Bush had called up draftees for Iraq, It would have been much harder to have done it.
