I disagree with some but not all of your post. I do agree that Israel should mount a massive peace initiative. They are dealing from a position of strength after killing the cowardly terrorist leaders and with Bush and Kerry on their side. This strength can not grow any stronger than it is at present.

I would announce initiatives that would postitvely affect the Palestinians.

I would not leave the entire West Bank. Israel needs a defensible border and the military can make a pretty good estimate of what is needed. I don't care about extremists in Israel who have some Biblical argument for keeping everything, just as I condemn Jihaddist whackos who call for their Jihads every 10 seconds.

Furthermore when trying to negotiate with terrorists and those who don't even recognize your right to exist, they do have to keep back some incentives to encourage talking.

Israel has to realize that Jihaddist terror is not going to lessen and that it doesn't take much of an imagination to know what juste one extremely crazed fundemantalist could do to this tiny strip of land. Peace with its neighbors should be their first priority within a setting of retaining strong defensible borders and a massive military might. Security cooperation needs to be part of any real peace.

As far as the international law crap, that term is an oxymoron. Israel knows well that when times get tough, they have very little to count on in the councils of nations. Not many have cared about a few Jews except if it is to take something from them, life, liberty and possessions.

Again - fact - history - not bluster and whining.
