Rape, and severe beatings that almost cause death are not "non-injurious technicques required to extract information". They're criminal acts, whether commited in a war zone or not. Sure certain interegation methods that aren't so pleasant have to be employed, but apparently the fox wasn't watching the henhouse and some of these GIs got a little to bigheaded with their authority and took things way too far. It hurts the whole war effort and hurts our standing in the world. Their superiors, knowing that this type of immoral conduct was very possible in a war zone, should have been on top of things and made clear what the limits were. It's a complete breakdown in leadership. Not a great mark on our country. We should be setting the standards high, not going down to people like Saddam's level. That is what we're supposedly there for after all. I thought conservatives believed in morality. I don't see how anyone can morally defend what was being done in those prisons in Iraq. It was criminal, not matter who was doing it and for what reason.

Listen up...A fellow had 50 yard line tickets for the Super Bowl. As he sits down, a stranger comes down and asks if anyone is sitting in the seat next to him. "No," he says, "the seat is empty." "This is incredible," said the stranger. "Who in their right mind would have a seat like this for the Super Bowl, the biggest sporting event in the world, and not use it?" The fellow says, "Well, actually, the seat belongs to me I was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away. This is the first Super Bowl we haven't been to together since we got married in 1967." "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible. But couldn't you find someone else -- a friend or relative, or even a neighbor to take the seat?" The fellow shakes his head ... "No, they're all at the funeral."
