Sam- That's pretty much my impression too. The number of Congressmen contacted was, I think, 17!

So much for Congressional oversight. I guess they were too busy collecting dues from lobyists.

It reminds me of Watergate when all the President's men gave cover until Butterfield revealed the Tapes.

Interesting.. In such a case, since the photos were ALREADY in the hands of the relatives PRIOR to their classification, it would be hard put to charge them.

But that still leaves the question as to how the actual Taguba report found its way to the press.. I'm sure they didn't have a copy of that.

But I have yet to see Hackworth comment on the photos or the abuse scandal..

However, he does make good points (at times) with regard to some of the flawed planning and mistakes of implementation by DOD..
