That's a fantastic article! I'm going to print it out and read it to my students. That's the kind of life that sounds so stimulating to me- life long achievements, dreams, and learning. Thank you so much for posting that. I'm inspired, especially since our piano just arrived (though I have to admit I never wanted to enter the Van Cliburn competition, but maybe some day my kids will...)

Another day of wonderful words-
today's prize winner was "puissant". I thought it meant content. nope. Powerful/strong

We had archipelago show up today, along with encumbrance, bequeathed, sinecure, menagerie, bombastic, gypsy, vagabond. grandeur, sodomitic, pizzle, plowshare, synod, ambergris, Pleiades, Bootes, pylferidge, ne plus ultra, tatting, anathematize, chauvinist, and I can't remember the rest. It was a HUGE day for words. It was a lot of fun too- because they were GREAT words. And I enjoyed learning puissant. I like it a lot.
