Studies haven't been around long enough to generate enough conclusive evidence. Some came out of Britain this year which started to point to long term ill effects.

No one argues that smoking - anything - isn't bad, except for the most confirmed of pot heads.

Clearly ingesting via the lungs smoke from any substance is going to do damage in the long run. Its only common sense.

My biggest issue with drugs is the illegal infrastructure that supports the "industry". Simply legalizing it and taxing it is not going to make a difference.

Lets compare tobacco and pot - I can speak with some authority on the former, my mothers family owned 1000's of acres of tobacco in Ontario.

Unlike pot, you can't grow tobacco profitably in a basement.

Pot can be grown anywhere you can run lights, in sufficient density to make it profitable.

Which is why the black market will continue to reign supreme in the distribution channel even if pot were to be fully legalized.
