Your point is fairly irrelevant. That's why I don't pay much attention to it. Was I saying that OBL was a Zionist? of course not. Of course he wants to destroy Israel. Israel is the worst thorn in the side of all the Islamists because its right on their turf (so they think). But it wasn't OBL's chief demand, not even close. It wasn't even listed on his 1998 declaration of war. His focus was Saudi Arabia, and the American troops there propping up the regime. The Palestinians are strictly an aferthought for him.

Certainy the idea that Osama bin Laden wants the US to be a "honest broker" is crazy. One can only read it as a self-delusion (one that seems common in some hard-left circles) that the Islamists don't mean what they say, they are really thinking like the left - they really care about poverty and other 'root causes'.
