Gosh, I wonder what Hewitt really thinks...

The opinion elites of the left are not only wholly out-of-touch with ordinary Americans, but they don't know it. Who, exactly, would be influenced by a decision --so weighty, so fraught with significance--- by the Los Angles Times editorialists to call for Rumsfeld's resignation? The polls show super-majorities supporting Rumsfeld

I find this silly. Editorialists for top papers are supposed to be smarter and better informed than we are. They tell us what they think, just as Hewitt does. We either buy it or we don't. If we want to know where the public is on an issue, we check the polls. Different roles to play.

Obviously the reaction to this will be as you anticipated. I'm glad to see it. I favor anything that promotes a dialog on the subject of improving journalistic quality.

Do you see the name of even one participant who is known for having challenged the leftward tilt of major media

I wonder what Oregon would have to say about that. That's the sort of venue where such things should be discussed. Maybe when he calms down and gathers his wits he'll ask them.
