The Jester has a place in our ecosystem., altho he almost never, in about l8 months, has said anything of substance . Sometimes, it is difficult to see what role certain species play in the ecosystem, but a closer look reveals some surprises. Poison oak? Good tree nursery; protects babies from deer, cows, etc. Yellowjackets? Fertilize flowers, carrion eaters, skunk food. Skunks? Eat yellowjackets. Mosquitos and no-see-ums in Alaska fill the role of bees. Here, The Court Jester and his fellow mosquitoes make us laugh; it's good to laugh. ARt
