I believe that is the responsible question to ask at this point.

I believe the right answer is for us to make the compromises necessary such that the UN and European powers are willing to become involved and share the responsibility.

Uncompromisingly insisting upon our own viewpoint and methods was the giant mistake to begin with. Arrogance always leads to disaster.
