I think (?) we rented a boat in Port Washington and went out to Fair Harbor on Fire Island in the summer of 65. There were four of us in a 13 foot outboard....we made it to Fair Harbor. Not the brightest thing I've ever done but I'm sure it's in the top 20. Ah, that's nuthin! I left Port Washington sailing aboard nothing more than a bar of Ivory Soap and a plastic spoon as an oar and made it out to Fire Island but I went the long way around Montauk... -LifeBuoy
