<<I doubt it>>

I figured you might, and when you stop doubting, it will be time to buy.

If talking about short rate increase can wobble the market thus, imagine what actual rise in short rate can do ...

... yes, I know you will say sell on rumor buy on fact ...

We shall see, for the way of the market is to Message 19880990 , and right now, just about everybody is long real estate, stocks, bonds, ... and short money.

Within money space, folks are getting long USD to pay their banker, and getting short everything else, including gold ... by your logic ... what happens next, oh, yes, stocks up and gold down, because interest rate will rise along with energy prices, or was it the other way around?

Long day. Just a peek at the market beast before I knock off. Good night.

<and the prospect of dramatically higher corporate earnings>

An astute observation that those earnings are priced into the market. Now, your prediction of higher rates should make the record high debt levels of all inputs into any economic model should make for interesting times... I think the record earnings will probably be reserved for a few short individuals and funds however, bankruptcy lawyers, and defense contractors. :))

AC and Jay, it is transpiring on your postings that you're, both, guilt of exaggeration. While Jay uses fear key triggers, ACF mirrors that by using soothing key triggers. That leaves us here trying to see the truth lying somewhere in between you both.

If Jay makes his fish small, perhaps ACF could switch off his gas lamp.

The gas lamp and the fisherman story:

It is about two fishermen telling their experiencies of a day's fishing:

One assaulted the truth saying his fish was so large that the only the photo he took of the fish he caught weight 1/2 a Kg, imagine the weight of the fish itself!

The other couldn’t top that said he threw his hook for 1/2 day, caught nothing but a lit on gas lantern.

The 1/2 kg photo fisherman said, a lit lantern was a bit too much.

The other fishermand replied.
If you make your photo weigh only 20grams and switch of my gas lamp.
