Here in the Tampa area they are pretty stable, but this area has been pretty steady. Housing hasn't gotten near as crazy as a lot of other areas.

Elroy re Boston rental market

The Boston area residential rental market is very soft and has been for some months. The apartment complex that I moved into last August (in Wellesley) has many empty units.Friends tell us that in the Commonwealth Ave area near Boston College, which is upscale RE, there are loads of vacancies and landlords are lowering rents and giving all kinds of concessions to attract and keep renters. That situation will be further complicated because all the major colleges In the area have significant on campus housing coming on stream. My daughter who rents in Natick tells me the situation is the same all over greater Boston.
