What you cite here is simply the means by which clerics are credentialed. That is no heirarchy (sic). Hierarchy is more than obedience and accountability. Yes, Muslims believe that obedience and accountability is directly between you and God. However, there is still a hierarchy of teaching and religious decrees. It is not a flat structure. To claim so is ignorance. If a Grand Ayatollah issues a fatwah, it has much more influence and weight that Bozo Laden's fatwah for jihad. Will some follow Bozo Laden? Sure, just like some follow Falwell, Robertson, Swaggart, and the rest of the Christian Bozos. There are also Islamic rulings that are used to guide Muslims on a wide variety of subjects. Hmm, couldn't find one that said, "Go attack Christians". Go figure. But none of them has ever called for anything like islam calls for. Your comparisons are truly numbskullian. You keep saying 'like islam calls for', yet you don't cite any references to just how Islam is making this call. Muslims around the world have been frustrated with America's pro-Israeli stance, which they see as repressive to the Palestinians. As such, many Muslims are angry with the US, and some are willing to give their lives for their cause. Many see an attack on America as just rewards for our support of Israel's repressive regime. They have not been called by Islam to fight, but instead acting on their own strong feelings and frustrations. Exactly as the Crusaders were, with your aforementioned result in innocent deaths. There is no difference. These terrorists are either as secular and detached from Islam as the Crusaders were from Christianity, or else both are corrupted.
