A little humbleness will help, Hawkmoon.

OK. Granted that US is probably a few decades ahead of some of the other nations in this regard. So what? Does that mean everyone else becomes uncivilized? Inhuman. And you have to remember that however benign and progressive the law and human rights are in US, they are not absolutes but a social order drawn from a certain religious and cultural history. Although these do carry some universal truths valued by all humans, certain aspects will be resisted by other cultures.

Humankind has been around for millions of years... There are going to be stragglers and leaders for decades or even centuries... that did not make the stragglers inhuman.

Go back 40 years, a significant population had to fight for their civil rights..
