Re: Although no evidence has emerged directly linking CACI's involvement in the Abu Ghraib atrocities to Israel, it has long been known that the US military has been interested in "learning" from Israel's experience attempting to suppress the Palestinian uprising. In March 2003, for example, the AP reported that the "the (US) military has been listening closely to Israeli experts and picking up tips from years of Israeli Army operations in Palestinian areas and Lebanese towns."

Well, at least American rednecks and crackers who lament "why do they hate us?" have an answer now: Abu Ghraib.

Of course, Israel personnel has been dispatched alongside US troops to Iraq from day one, that's a no-brainer... As I said, the US is basically aping Israel as it turns the whole of Iraq into one big West Bank --the West-Bankization of Iraq.

But then, keep in mind that the Pentagon planners studied the French-Algerian war (1954-62) BEFORE they invaded Iraq... Pontecorvo's movie on the Algerian war was watched by US brass early in 2003. Therefore, US authorities --including Rumsfeld-- knew about the Battle of Algiers and the torturing of Algerian people by the French....

So my point is that the current hoopla about the war crimes perpetrated by US troops in Iraq didn't come as a surprise: US intelligence (DIA) was tracking all that mess all along... The main --and only-- concern for US authorities was the timing of its disclosure to the public. The US administration deemed it preferable to defuse the torture scandal not too soon, yet not too late as the prez election comes near (November).

As for explaining away the torturing of Iraqis by the French precedent, that just don't cut it. Indeed, remember that the war itself was started by the FLN on All Saints Day, Nov 1st, 1954: bombs exploded in Algiers killing dozens of innocent Pieds-Noirs...(*) then, expectedly, the French military intervened to protect over one million Europeans/Pieds Noirs who were living among 9 million Muslim Algerians. Whereas Saddam didn't kill a single American citizen in March 2003....

You know some deutche bag is going to blame Israelis. Very predictable. Now we'll here from the Nazi who says Israel did 9/11. Quite a moderate group.

OBL was a poor patsy. Saddam a nice grandfather.
