There are a LOT of hedge funds around that's for sure. OTOH, as someone who used to do a lot of investing for myself and 'friends'... even if you're conservative, it's really the only way to go to avoid all the red tape. So I certainly don't consider 'hedge fund' a dirty word.... in fact, not being able to switch asset classes, and or even within the equity world depending on price and situation seems stupid to me..... but then I've never been a fan of the mutual fund industry, lot's of coin and fun for the managers and owners of the money management firms though. Anyone else see the similarity between 'asset gathering' and 'harvesting crops'? I don't fancy myself a crop.
