I said that very thing yesterday to a friend of mine on the FADG thread. I think false perceptions of what the Iraqis did, could very well have played into some of the scandals concerning our treatment of them. I am in full agreement with you on that. Fox news has a lot to answer for, imo.

That illustrated the danger of simple if-then hate-talk radio solutions to the world. If a suspect is a huge threat, do anything to get information.

But what if doing that undermines your whole campaign against terrorism and your general standing in the world? Which is the greater danger?

The hatemongers on the airwaves won't go that far - it's not a sexy angle. But it's the more important of the two.
