Yes the rightwing propaganda machine of today ressembles that of Nazi Germany and the Soviet states. It scapegoats "liberals", "traitors", "evil", "anti-American" forces (really myths which don't even exist) for all our problems. The Nazis used the Jews and gypsies. The Soviets used anyone disloyal to the revolution. Basically you are given two choices, "with us or against us". Same thing as Bushies say. You are therefore either a patriot or an anti-patriot appeasing our enemies. You still hear this all the time on rightwing talk radio, that critics are helping our enemies and hurting our troops. Plus, they deliberately confuse Bush and Bushies with "America". So if you're anti-Bush that makes you anti-America. "Blame America first" really means blaming rightwing Bushies. That is why we cannot trust the rightwing with the Patriot Act, media consolidation or blank checks.
