Neil,

W/R/T the Middle East and the Arab world, democracy means self-determination, just as it does everywhere else across the planet.

Attempts by a lying war-monger like George Bush to impose democracy at the point of a gun (particularly one held by racist foreigners) is doomed to failure.

I read widely. I read not only the bilious disinformation in the American media about George Bush's goals and aspirations (they never report the insanity of his messianic obsessions), but I also read the British, Continental, Arab, Jewish and Asian media regularly.

The impression I get of George Bush is the impression most of the rest of the world has of him. That he is an incurious cowboy from an over-testosteroned and adolescent culture who is attempting to impose foreign standards on a people in Iraq that the locals see as vulgar, indecent, over-sexed and rapacious both of the people and resources of the country.

To see him any other way is to be blind to reality.
