It goes a lot deeper than than John. And even if Rumsfeld not involved directly this all happened on his watch. I know i am in trouble now when i use Unclewest as a source but i think he nails it and if any of his bad scenarios apply, then Rummy should go because he was in charge even if he wasnt in charge. mike Message 20114854

Hi John, The thread is rampant with speculation about Rumsfeld to which I have contributed. We are doing exactly what the liberals want - that is wringing our hands, place blame and feel guilty. What is important to me is that those sane people in this country not lose sight of the bigger picture. We saw the bigger picture today with video of another American being be-headed. The idiot factor in congress will probably choose to ignore this too. After all, what good is this in their unbridled effort to unseat GWB? I want someone "tough as nails" running DOD. So far Rumsfeld has done quite well. Has it been perfect in Iraq? No. The liberals in congress and the media are salivating with this prison issue because Rumsfeld has been quite blunt with them and they haven't had anything else significant to blame on him. If GWB succumbs to the liberal media and left extremists by dismissing Rumsfeld the democrats will say this is proof that his war policies were wrong with the hope that will win the election for kerry.
