Nonsense!

Spain sent troops to Iraq despite huge public opposition. And the public was right as rain on this issue. All those people died because Aznar chose to be a Bushie stooge rather than a representative of the Spanish people.

The Spanish were fighting terrorism long before "Al-Qaeda" became a household name in the US. Your "they empowered the terrorists" (by plucking Aznar's party out of power) is a statement that is woefully ignorant, not only of Spain's long conflict with ETA, but also the events following the Madrid train bombs.

Spanish voted for Zapatero because Aznar LIED to them about the perpetrators being ETA, for their own political gain. Evidence kept piling up that it was Al-Qaeda, but Aznar still insisted it was ETA, hoping that the cover would hold until after the elections.

It may be difficult for you to believe, but some nations on this planet actually vote liars out of office.
